Well, I just got off the phone with the man, himself.

Dad is doing fine. He only has one IV in each arm now, the doctors are introducing him to a little bit of exercise, and he has a walker to use once he’s ready. Because there was little to no circulation in his leg before there is a little bit of swelling, but that’s normal.

A few more weeks and he should be back at home, right as rain.

Unfortunately, I missed Dad’s call last night, but thankfully he left a message.

He sounds a little bit sleepy, but fine. He says the operation lasted a little longer than they thought it might, but that he is now in recovery. I believe there was a little more to it, but I will most definitely be speaking with him today and update as soon as I can.

Ugh.

Apparently the message I had received was wrong. My Mom called the hospital at about 5am this morning and they said that Dad is fine. He’s in recovery and his foot is responding well to the surgery! This excellent news hints that soon this nightmare of a saga will thankfully be over.

Dad waited all day yesterday for his surgery. It was so ridiculous!! He was up at 4:30 am and couldn’t eat or drink anything for the entire day! Finally, he had his surgery at 9pm. It went well, except he lost blood. He is now in the ICU until that situation has been taken care of. After that, he should have a week of recovery and then be allowed to go home.

Sorry to be so blunt, I’m quite upset from all of this. I do know that everything will be fine especially since the operation is done with and things can start getting better.

I didn’t speak with Dad last night, but apparently nothing has changed. The operation is supposed to take place today and hopefully everything will be hunky-dory once more.

After the operation, he’ll have a week of recooping in the hospital and then he’ll be allowed to go home.

Hello Family members and concerned alike!

While my Dad appreciates everyones support, it’s becoming a little too much for him. The other day, after numerous phone calls, his blood pressure jumped 21 points. Hopefully this can be an informative outlet for anyone and everyone concerned.

So, as far as I know, Dad is going for surgery tomorrow. They are going to replace three arteries and a vein in one of his legs. After this, he will probably have a couple of weeks to relax and then be back to his merry self. I will speak with him tonight and get more details and updates, but unfortunately I believe this to be all the information I know of at the moment.
